Development Opportunities - Concord Municipal Airport
The City of Concord has land available at the Concord Municipal Airport (CMA) upon which facilities related to aircraft activity may be constructed. The City periodically issues Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for development of these sites. Four sites have been identified by the CMA Master Plan Update, May 2006, and the Concord Airport Advisory Committee. These sites are designated to be available on a long-term lease basis to private individuals or corporations for the construction of a structure or structures for aircraft hangars, t-hangars, and motor vehicle parking, as permitted by the City’s “Minimum Standards and Procedures for Concord, New Hampshire, Municipal Airport”, adopted March 12, 1984; revised September 9, 1986. The land in question can be accessed by a secure gate on Regional Drive. Regional Drive connects the airport to NH Route 106 to the east and to Airport Road and Old Turnpike Road to the west. This connection gives the Airport quick access to Exits 13 and 14 of Interstate 93 and to Interstate 393 via Route 106.
The New Hampshire Army National Guard's Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) is adjacent to the available site, as is the City’s Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building. In addition, the City leases 43,500 square feet of nearby land to East Coast Hangars, which owns ten T-hangar units which are for sale or lease as condominium units.
By offering this site for development, the City hopes to achieve the following goals:
- To increase flight activity at CMA.
- To increase aircraft-related services at CMA.
- To increase opportunities for choice from among competing services available to aircraft owners and pilots at CMA while assuring sufficient volume of activity to retain a full range of aviation services.
- To maximize the contribution of CMA to the City’s economic base
- To maximize private investment at CMA in order to increase the City tax base.
- To promote the maximum level of safety at CMA.
- To minimize conflicts between activities at CMA and the surrounding neighborhood.
